Every couple of months, my buddy Nancy and I meet with our mentor, Patrick LoCicero.  We haul our paintings to his studio in North Seattle.

Patrick was one our of instructors last year at the UW...he is fearless, energetic, honest, and helpful.  His enthusiasm for our work ethic is palatable; his constructive criticism is insightful.  For example, he took one look at my Two Red Pitchers....

....and exclaimed emphatically, "Get rid of that red frame!  And, don't tell me that's a window.  It's awful.  !!!!!!"  We laughed, and I knew I'd paint it out as soon as I could.

It is valuable to listen to Patrick
and it is inspiring
just to be in his studio.
