In a recent blog, I posted photos of four paintings in their preliminary stage.  Each painting has now come along and evolved.  People often ask me, "Do you have a favorite?"  I really don't attach to the work like that.  I see in each piece what I learned, and think about 'the what' and 'the how' for the next session or next painting.
I am working on five paintings, of the 'red pitcher', and move from one-to-another, sometimes within one studio session.

Two Red Pitchers

This one is done now.

Note, Madame Matisse glancing a wise eye towards my piece from the mantel.  (For those of you in my cohort at the UW, remember how much I loved copying this Matisse painting and how well it turned out?!)
